The Fugitive (1993), starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, was filmed at the trestle on the Tuckasegee River at the western end of our park.

The famous train and bus crash scene left movie goers at the edge of their seat with their hearts racing while Richard Kimball escapes the on rushing train.

The train engine and caboose is still available to be seen in the area at Dillsboro and is part of one of several excursions available on the The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad . Take the Tuckasegee River Excursion and go over the famous trestle and go right along side the Tuckasegee River and the Country Girl's RV Park.
